Dorothy Ann Willis Richards (September 1, 1933 – September 13, 2006) was an educator, author, American politician and the 45th Governor of Texas.

Her 1988 DNC keynote address was listed as #38 in American Rhetoric's Top 100 Speeches of the 20th Century (listed by rank).

Padma Parvati Lakshmi Vaidynathan was born in Chennai, India on September 1, 1970. She is an author, actress, model, television host and executive producer. Her debut cookbook Easy Exotic won her the "Best First Book" award at the 1999 Gourmand World Cookbook Awards. She has been the host of the US reality television program Top Chef since season two in 2006, for which she received a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program.

Amrita Pritam (31 August 1919 – 31 October 2005) was an Indian writer and poet, who wrote in Punjabi and Hindi. She is considered the first prominent woman Punjabi poet, novelist, and essayist, and the leading 20th-century poet of the Punjabi language, who is equally loved on both sides of the India-Pakistan border. With a career spanning over six decades, she produced over 100 books of poetry, fiction, biographies, essays, a collection of Punjabi folk songs and an autobiography that were translated into several Indian and foreign languages.

Jessica "Jessie" Lauren Graff (born January 12, 1984) is a professional stunt woman and actress. Her nickname is "Tumbleweed". She is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, a black sash in Kung Fu, and is trained in five other styles of martial arts. She is also a championship pole vaulter and competitive gymnast. She has become famous for performances on the obstacle course show American Ninja Warrior, including being the first woman ever to complete the stage one of the Las Vegas finals in 2016.

Mary Shelley (30 August 1797 – 1 February 1851) was born Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin in Somers Town, London. She was the second child of the feminist philosopher, educator, and writer Mary Wollstonecraft, and the first child of the philosopher, novelist, and journalist William Godwin.

Author of the Gothic novel, Frankenstein, and wife of poet Percy Bysshe Shelley, whose works she championed and edited. Her less famous works include novels such as Valperga, Perkin Warbeck, and The Last Man.
