Susan notes: This story touching story of love and faith was emailed to me by my friend Diana in Ottawa, Canada. It’s told by Joy Scrivener, mother of three children. When the family’s dog Abbey dies, Scrivener’s daughter Meredith persuades her Mom to send a letter to God, asking him to take care of the deceased dog, which Scrivener describes (in comment posted about a year after I first published the story here on AWR), as "a little foundling; the best guess we have as to her heritage is part daschund, part fence-jumper."  The photograph which accompanies the story is NOT that of Meredith and Abbey.

Each year Big Cat Rescue gets leftover pumpkins from stores after halloween, pumpkins are a great source of enrichment for our cats, as well as a great source of entertainment for the staff and volunteers at Big Cat Rescue!

All the cats love to play, eat and generally demolish the pumpkins, providing them with hours of entertainment, watch as we show you what they get up to when they are given one of their favourite treats!

Music teacher Tala Badri is the founder and executive director of Centre for Musical Arts,
 a non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality and affordable 
music instruction for people of all ages and walks of life in the UAE.

She has personally experienced the transformational power of music through her own life as well as that of her young daughter who has Asperger's syndrome.

Badri began her talk with a video clip of her daughter playing the violin, then later shared a heartwarming to camera talk of the youngster explaining what it means to have Asperger's.

It was both touching and personal.
